Partial Lunar Eclipse This Evening: Clearly Visible from Kathmandu for One Hour

Kathmandu – A partial lunar eclipse will occur this evening, and astronomers say the Moon will already appear eclipsed at the time of moonrise at 6:04 PM local time.

According to senior astronomer Jayant Acharya, the lunar eclipse will be observable from various parts of Nepal. As the Moon rises above the horizon, more than half of its visible surface will be covered by the Earth’s dark shadow.

He noted that witnessing the Moon rising while already in eclipse is considered a rare astronomical phenomenon. In Kathmandu, the eclipsed Moon will rise at 6:04 PM and remain clearly visible for approximately one hour.

Unlike a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse does not pose any direct harm to the eyes. Astronomers confirm that no special equipment or protective glasses are required, and the event can be safely observed with the naked eye from open spaces.
