Pakistan Declares ‘Open War’ After Airstrikes in Kabul; Afghanistan Ready for Talks

Kathmandu: Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have sharply escalated after Pakistan carried out airstrikes in major Afghan cities. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif declared the start of an “open war.”

According to Al Jazeera, Pakistan launched airstrikes targeting Kabul, Kandahar, and other areas. Border clashes have continued, with both sides claiming casualties.

Afghanistan has expressed readiness for dialogue and peaceful resolution. The recent cross-border escalations have raised concerns about a broader regional conflict in South Asia.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif alleged that after the withdrawal of NATO forces, the Taliban administration sheltered militant groups, undermining regional peace and violating human rights.

Earlier, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar claimed Afghanistan launched drone strikes in Abbottabad, Swabi, and Nowshera.

TOLO News reported that the drones were intercepted with no casualties recorded. Rising tensions between Kabul and Islamabad have heightened fears of instability across South Asia.
