Kathmandu – Nepali peacekeepers deployed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo under the call of the United Nations have undergone a scheduled rotation.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepali Army, under the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), the 31st contingent of Shree Chandee Dal Battalion (Peacekeeping Force) and the 4th contingent of Shree Bhimkali Company QRF have been replaced by the 32nd contingent of Shree Rudradhwaj Battalion (Peacekeeping Force) and the 5th contingent of Shree Ranshur Company QRF.
A total of 238 Nepali peacekeepers departed for the mission area on Falgun 18, 2082 (Nepali calendar) as the final deployment team. On the same day, 238 returning peacekeepers who had completed their tenure arrived back in Nepal.
Currently, 969 Nepali Army personnel are serving in the Congo-based UN peacekeeping mission.
Nepali Army has long maintained active participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations, playing a vital role in promoting global peace and stability.
