NRNA Announces Election Schedule for 12th International General Convention

Kathmandu – The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has officially announced the election schedule for its 12th International General Convention. The convention is scheduled to take place from March 13 to March 16 (Falgun 30 to Chaitra 2) with elections for new leadership positions.

According to a statement issued by NRNA, candidates for the 74 positions under the two-year term must complete their nomination registration by Falgun 22, either through physical presence or online submission. Those submitting nominations via email or in person at the NRNA Secretariat are required to be present along with their proposer and supporter for verification.

The preliminary list of candidates will be published on Falgun 26, while complaints against candidates can be filed until Falgun 27. On the same day, verification of nomination papers and decisions on complaints will be finalized. The second list of candidates will also be published on Falgun 27.

Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations on Falgun 28, after which the final list of candidates will be published. The finalized list will also be provided to the company responsible for conducting the online voting system. A mock online voting session is scheduled for Falgun 29.

Online voting for participants outside Nepal will remain open from Falgun 30 to Chaitra 1. For participants inside Nepal, voting will be conducted through an online system at Hotel The Soaltee in Kathmandu on Chaitra 1 from 1:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

So far, Robin Sherchan from Japan and Dr. Hemraj Sharma from the United Kingdom have announced their candidacy for the position of President. Observers expect the number of candidates to increase if voting is conducted with physical presence.
