Effective Home Remedies to Remove Dandruff

Kathmandu. Many young people suffer from dandruff, a common scalp condition. Dandruff occurs when tiny pores at the hair roots get blocked, preventing the natural oils from reaching the skin. This leads to accumulation under the skin, forming pimples or flakes, which is known as dandruff.

Here are some effective home remedies to reduce dandruff:


1. Honey

Honey can help remove dandruff from the face. Apply honey to the affected area, leave it for a few minutes, and then rinse with cold water. For extra glow, you can wash your face with cold milk afterward. This remedy not only helps remove dandruff but also brightens the skin.


2. Clove

Cloves are considered highly beneficial for dandruff. Boil one cup of water with cloves, let it cool, and crush the cloves into a paste. Apply the paste or its oil to the dandruff-affected area for 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water. This helps reduce flakes and irritation.


3. Banana Peel

Banana packs soften the skin and provide deep nourishment. Use mashed banana or mix it with honey or yogurt, apply to the face, and massage gently. After rinsing with water, you can apply ice cubes to tighten pores and soothe the skin.


4. Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is highly effective against dandruff and adds a natural glow. However, applying lemon directly may cause a burning sensation. Mix lemon juice with water or honey before applying to avoid irritation.


5. Sandalwood Powder

Sandalwood powder is another natural remedy for dandruff. Mix a small amount of sandalwood powder with gram flour, yogurt, and lemon juice to form a paste. Apply to the affected area for 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water. Avoid excessive lemon to prevent skin irritation.


6. Steam Therapy

Steaming the face can help prevent dandruff by providing internal nourishment to the skin and removing dead skin cells. After steaming, clean the face with a cotton cloth instead of hands, as touching can worsen dandruff.


7. Tomato

Tomatoes contain nutrients beneficial for the skin, similar to lemon. Applying tomato juice directly to the affected area helps reduce dandruff and brighten the skin. Leave it on the face for 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
